    Not a period piece
A "period piece" is a film that takes place in a time period other than the one in which it was produced. "Network" is not a "period piece". It was produced and released in 1975-76 and was very current for its time.

    Tanya Vitellaro
The class wiki has developed into a great and helpful tool for understanding the concepts or this course. All contributions have helped it develop into this creative and informational space. My contributions have varied across the board from contributing to the table of contents to contributing to the Navigation. For my community building and maintenance portion of this assignment, I added the Analysis and Reflection section on the Navigation menu as well as a detailed outline for the Test Review. I also added the definition Online Communities where several others have contributed as well. Other contribution I made was towards concepts that were already in the table of contents but had not yet been contributed to. These concepts were censorship; by adding the definition and an image to make it more creative. I added a definition for documentary and elaborated on synchronous communication and imported a model of how this type of communication works. I added a definition as well as an for e-Zine, text messaging and magnetic tape. For my content portion of the assignment I contributed the section on war propaganda, where I demonstrated different ways this media form had been used in world war two by Hitler and his Nazi regime, as well as the section on forums, where I demonstrated the cybercultural aspects of this new media form.
My experience with the wiki has been a positive one. I was privileged to have already experienced working on a wiki in CCT205. I enjoyed working on the 205 wiki, however this time around was much more enjoyable, for the reason that the class was much smaller and there was more room for contributions. Having a smaller class made it easier to contribute the topic you wanted, with out it already being taken and did not feel rushed to get a topic in. The wiki is also a great place for participation from all students. Not everyone is comfortable talking in class and the wiki gives those individuals a chance to speak their mind on the topics of the course.
The suggestions I have for future CCIT students as well as CCIT classes is to use Wikispaces for every class because of its interactive and informative quality, rather then the current web applications we use such as WebCT or CCNET. Having experienced the Wikispace and these other web applications, I personally felt more involved in the course and felt my contributions were important and useful in the Wikispaces rather then on the message boards in both WebCT and CCNET. Overall, the wiki makes it easier and more comfortable for students to contribute and for professors to be more social with the students.

    Ashley Vieira Reflection
Once again I have had the opportunity to help create a community through the Wikispace. I really enjoy this assignment because it gives students an opportunity to write about anything within the parameters of course, while still allowing us to exercise our creativity. Because of the wikispaces nature, this assignment allows for a form of collaborative work among students. Multiple individuals can add, delete to one particular stub of information posted, eventually creating one collective source of material. I think Wiki’s are a fabulous idea, and considering that our class was not very interactive in lecture, it was nice to see a community build full of great ideas.
Over the course of the last few weeks, I have actively contributed to the space. Alas, for the most part my submissions were done in the latter portion of the project deadline. My contributions to the Wikispace have been collaboration of course content, reference material, highlighting key concepts, and posting relevant resources I had from previous courses. A rough listings of my contributions are shown below.
After working on a Wikispace for a second time, many of my feelings and concerns are still active from the first assignment. I found that a lot of irrelevant information which had nothing to do with the course was being posted. People began talking about virtually anything. By narrowing choices down, such as creating a collaborative list when introducing the wikispace would alleviate this problem. Although, sometimes these irrelevant stubs can be interesting, I think they take away from the relevance of what we are trying to do in the space. More content focusing on the key aspects of the course and their application would have been more suitable. Another issue which is uncontrollable is the size of our community. The class only had roughly 40 students so the community building and edits were not so common. With a larger group size there is more opportunity to be more interactive and collaborative. Nonetheless our space grew nicely.
Overall the assignment went really well. It actually becomes addicting once you begin posting. The final collaboration of the space is always nice to see. I would encourage wikispace in every CCT course.
